BioLumic and Fonterra Team Up to Supercharge Dairy Pastures with Innovative Seed Tech

Field trials are set to begin in New Zealand next year, targeting a commercial launch in 2028. BioLumic is already applying xTraits across corn and soybean crops in the U.S. and New Zealand, with operations in Wisconsin, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New Zealand supporting this innovation. Fonterra’s Chief Science Officer Jeremy Hill emphasized that this partnership marks a new era for forage innovation in pasture-based dairy, unlocking scalable productivity gains through advanced seed technology.
